Bikers Weekend

Open House

First weekend in May it was time for the annual Open House at Bike Line. Malmö showed itself from its best side and offered sunny sping weather. Bike enthusiasts came together to talk, look at bikes and breathe bike. You could find a wide variety of Bikes. From renovated originals to the most amazing and crazy custom builds.

Nowadays you can see more and more cool buildings based on Japanese models. The large Café Racer trend was noticed more this year, both in the parking lot and at the exhibition. Bike Line has taken note of this trend in the shop.

As usual, we had many exhibitors onsite to showcase everything from cleansers to tires and exhaust systems. The exhibitors seemed to be busy all day with curious visitors and received many questions from interested customers. In today's e-commerce society this becomes more and more important to get the opportunity and see and touch the goods before you buy them. Suppliers also get an excellent opportunity for feedback from their customers about what´s good and whats not.

As for the music this day we had the danish musician J-tex visiting. It has become something of a tradition at Bike Line's Open House. He accompanies HDCS´s BBQ with heavy blues tones in a brilliant way. HDCS grilled and delivered 550 sausages to all hungry motorcycle enthusiasts. As usual, the sausage is for free but in recent years there has been a box where you could put in a little something in order to contribute to charity. This time the money went the foundation My big day. We gathered 5589 sek! Bikers may be big, tough and tattooed but they have a heart that beats for our children. Good work!

The annual bike exhibition this year attracted 26 bikes. Everything from Cafe Racers to old school custom builds. The exhibition is getting bigger and better every year with higher class and finish. Winner of this years exhibition was Dennis Weberg with his Flat foot bobber. A really neat and stripped construction. Dennis is only 23 years old and the guess is that we will be seeing a lot more of him in the future. Dennis won a gift certificate, value 2000 sek - at Bike Line. On second place came Peter Persson with his Rocker -08 and he won a gift voucher on the Avon Tyres, value 1500 sek. The third place went to Andreas Linder and his stylish Heritage and he was rewarded with a kit from Ultra Glozz. There was also a prize for the longest distance that went to Jens Nilsson, who had driven 12 swedish miles to get to the Open House. His prize was oil from Parts Europe. All prize winners also received a one-year subscription of MCM and sun glasses from Velodrome.

Charity Run

The day after our Open House the bike enthusiast were gathered once again at Handelsbodens parking lot for Malmoe Chapter's annual Charity Run. 251 people contributed in the run and it managed to collect impressive 54,104 sek to BRIS. It was fun to see all Malmoe Chapter officials' dedication and hard work. Petra is Malmoe Chapters Activity Officer and she did a fantastic job with the event. She baked waffles, counted collected money or on the run to fix something else. For those who missed it this year, be sure not to miss the 2015 Charity Run where you can make a difference for the people in need.

The run finished at Bike Line's parking lot where we served waffles, also the award ceremony was held here. The winner in this years run was Irene Nilsson. Biggest participating club became YCCS with 25 participants.
